Photography

Photography has always been a very important part of my designs.  Portraits have never really been my thing.  I'm more interested in more abstract nature or mechanical imagery.  I have taken many classes in photography, traditional and digital.  Although I appreciate the artistic nature of the traditional steps, I prefer digital.

For my own personal use, I use a Sony DSC-F707.  I use this camera along with an array of lenses I have including a macro, wide angle, and telephoto.  The traditional photos I have taken were with a Nikon which I borrowed from a friend (not sure of the model).

Prints

These prints are a combination of traditional and digital artwork.  Photography, drawings, along wih 3d and 2d digital design elements are what I have used to create the designs in this section.  You may see some elements of my photography included here.

A lot of the work here has a grunge-style.  A lot of people use the "grunge brushes" for Photoshop but I have always preferred to use overlays and imagery from photos I have taken or drawings I've made.

Websites

I have worked on the web for a long time.  I began when I was in 7th/8th grade (I dont know exactly, it was too long ago).  Originally, I started working with Paint Shop Pro and Frontpage.  Yes I know, I'd kick my ass if I were me back then too.  Basicly, the crap that I had to deal with in Frontpage is what brought me to look for better solutions.  I have used Dreamweaver from version 4 to 8.  Now I use Notepad++.  It's quick, efficient, and clean.  Notepad++ is the best tool I've found yet.

For design, I use Photoshop CS2.  GIMP is also a great tool and it's development has been excellent.  I keep following it hoping to one day switch, but the usability and tools that are built in Photoshop are just too good to pass up. The biggest pain in the ass I've found with Photoshop: it's too slow!
